Main Entrance sign

We are really proud of this dramatic entrance to the garden.  It was designed by our landscape architect Neil Higson and manufactured from Cor-ten steel.  As it ages it will develop a brown velvety surface.  The sign is mounted on two of the pillars that held up the former Wolverton railway station that was demolished in the late 1980s.  The pillars were sold as scrap to someone in Stony Startford and  some of them were used as lamposts in the Swinfen Yard development.  Three were left and these were bought for Wolverton by two members of the Wolverton Arts & Heritage Society (and Secret Garden volunteers) Denise Ilett and Jill Kitchen.  The third column holds up the sculpture of the Phoenix in the Market Square.
